ANSI C63.26 is the standard used to evaluate the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and RF performance of transmitters operating under licensed radio services regulated by the FCC. It provides test procedures and measurement methods for wireless devices used in applications such as public safety communications, land mobile radio systems, cellular infrastructure, and other licensed communication services.
The standard defines how to perform radiated and conducted measurements, transmitter output power testing, occupied bandwidth measurements, spurious emissions evaluations, and other regulatory compliance tests required for FCC certification.
Because many of these measurements are performed above 1 GHz using directional antennas, maintaining proper antenna alignment with the Equipment Under Test (EUT) during antenna height scans can improve measurement accuracy and repeatability, making boresight antenna systems a valuable tool in ANSI C63.26 test environments.
