Components

Component testing is not necessarily EMC, but it is related. Development and production testing of components are needed to test isolation and performance. These tests are similar in some cases to the transient tests performed for the lightning surge in EMC. Requirements for testing high voltage levels for insulation or lightning protection devices. Specialized Generators are sometimes used for this testing but they may fall under the requirements of IEC 61000-4-5 for surge testing.
