EMCI-BSF Boresight FixtureUpgrade Existing Antenna Masts with Precise Boresight AlignmentThe EMCI-BSF Boresight Fixture provides a practical, cost-effective way to add boresight functionality to existing antenna mast systems. Designed for EMC and RF testing applications, the fixture helps keep the antenna accurately pointed toward the Equipment Under Test (EUT) while allowing flexible adjustment of test distance and EUT reference height. This lightweight and portable solution is ideal for laboratories that need improved antenna alignment without replacing their existing mast infrastructure. Boresight antenna systems are commonly used for radiated emissions testing in accordance with ANSI C63.4, ANSI C63.10, ANSI C63.26, and CISPR 16 measurement methods, particularly at frequencies above 1 GHz where directional horn antennas are typically employed. By automatically maintaining antenna alignment with the Equipment Under Test (EUT) throughout antenna height scans, a boresight system helps keep the EUT within the antenna's primary illumination pattern and 3 dB beamwidth. This improves measurement consistency, reduces alignment errors, and enhances the accuracy and repeatability of radiated emissions testing. Key Features
Designed for EMC and RF Test ApplicationsDuring boresight testing, the antenna remains pointed toward the EUT as the height or test configuration changes. This helps maintain proper alignment and improves repeatability during radiated emissions and RF measurement setups. For EMC mode, the EUT reference height is typically set to 1.0 m. For RF mode, the EUT reference height is typically set to 1.5 m. Custom height configurations are also supported to meet specific test requirements. Specifications
System ComponentsThe EMCI-BSF system includes:
The horn antenna is not included. Why Use the EMCI-BSF?Many EMC laboratories already have functional antenna masts but lack true boresight capability. The EMCI-BSF provides an efficient upgrade path, allowing existing systems to achieve improved antenna alignment without the cost and disruption of replacing the full mast system. By maintaining the antenna aim point toward the EUT, the fixture helps improve setup consistency, test repeatability, and confidence in radiated measurement results. Applications
