optoUSB2.0 -VA6K, Fiber-optic Link for USB

The optoUSB2.0-VA6K is the successor of the optoUSB2.0-RBDIR. The optoUSB-2.0-VA6K system can be used for the optical transmission of USB-signals up to a data rate of 480 Mbit/s according to USB2.0. It can be used to transmit USB-signals over long distances or to handle ground potential problems. With the optical transmission and the shielded case, the system is well equipped for EMI and EME tests.

The optoUSB2.0-VA6K is a bidirectional fiber-optic USB 2.0 extension system designed specifically for EMC measurement environments. Based on the Valens VA6000 chipset, it transports USB 2.0 signals over duplex multimode fiber, eliminating copper between the EUT in the chamber and the control room.

By replacing the previous optoUSB2.0-RBDIR link, this new generation provides robust role-reversal capability (host/device side), improved handling in harsh EMC environments, and optimised RF behaviour via Rosenberger HSD connectivity and dedicated adapter cables. There is no radio or RF transmitter integrated; transmission is purely optical, minimising both emissions and susceptibility to electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic fields.

 

The system is ideal wherever reliable USB connectivity is required during EMC functional tests, without compromising the test setup or measurement accuracy.
