CU 50561-1, Coupling Unit, acc. EN 50561-1Description The AC separators provide connectivity between the LISNs and the device under test (DuT) respectively the auxiliary equipment (AE) as well as the connection to the measurement setup. Two of the R/C elements required by the standard EN 50561-1 are already built-in (1 M || 100 nF). The 50 μH chokes described in the standard are part of the LISN and thus not integrated in the AC-Separator. Two identical AC separators are required for the measurement setup.
According to the standard one LISN has to be connected to EuT and AE each. These AMN block the high frequent disturbance voltages from mains and provide energy to the EuT as well as to the auxiliary equipment (AE). The AC separators couple the high frequencies through R/C elements and short connection wires into the measurement setup according to the standard EN 50561-1. The AC separators have to be connected to the LISNs. They then provide the energy to the EuT and AE. The measurement circuit is a variable bypass element for the high-frequency range used by PLC modems. The red and the black safety laboratory connectors of the AC separators at the EuT side have to be connected to the SPLIT 100 using the short cables included in the scope of delivery. The AC separator at the AE side has to be connected to the SYMAT 40. PDF Overview PLC Measurement-System EN 50561-1
