This unique transient generator exceeds the requirements of the MIL-STD-461 CS116 test method because it can produce more than twice the current levels of the MIL-STD 461 CS116. The test method CS116 is used to verify the ability of the device under test to withstand sinusoidal excitation on interconnecting cables. The generator can be ordered with a complete set of accessories consisting of a current injection probe, a current measurement probe, a set of coaxial load and attenuators, an oscilloscope, and control software.
In addition to the basic requirements of the CS116 test, the number of test frequencies can be increased to 12 instead of 6 in the frequency range 10 kHz - 100 MHz. This allows for better excitation of the resonances of the device under test.
The generator has one signal output only and does not require any connection change during the test. This feature reduces the test duration and enables automated calibration and test sequences. All settings and levels are recorded for the measurement and for the generation of a test report.
Key Features
Exceeds MIL-STD-461 CS116 Requirements: Generates current levels up to +7 dB above the standard, ensuring thorough testing of interconnecting cables and systems.
Extended Frequency Range: Supports 6 standard frequencies from 10 kHz to 100 MHz, expandable to 12 frequencies for improved excitation of resonances in the device under test.
Simplified Connections: Single signal output eliminates the need for reconnections, reducing test time and enabling seamless automated calibration and testing.
Enhanced Automation: Includes software to automate calibration, adjust levels, collect measurement data, and generate test reports.
High Durability: Rated for up to 1 million impulses in open circuit and 0.5 million impulses in load conditions, ensuring reliability over extended use.
