CAP 10 µF Decoupling Capacitor for Low-Frequency Signal Isolation

Overview

The CAP 10 µF is an optional high-reliability decoupling capacitor designed to meet the requirements of MIL STD 461 E/F/G and DO 160G Section 17. Installed across the DUT-side terminals of two Line Impedance Stabilization Networks (NNBM 8124), it provides essential low-frequency signal decoupling and surge suppression during conducted immunity testing.

Key Benefits

  • Standards Compliance: Fully meets MIL STD 461 E/F/G and DO 160G Sec. 17 test requirements.

  • High Voltage Withstand: 1,000 V DC dielectric strength; up to 640 VAC (50/60 Hz), 600 VAC (400 Hz), 270 VAC (890 Hz).

  • Low Impedance at LF: 10 µF ±10 % capacitance ensures effective decoupling of low-frequency disturbances.

  • Compact & Robust: Anodized aluminum housing (80 × 62 × 120 mm), 270 g, rated –25 °C to +60 °C.

  • Easy Connectivity: 4 mm safety laboratory jacks for quick, secure installation.

Installation & Usage

  1. Placement: Connect one CAP 10 µF capacitor between the DUT side terminals of two NNBM 8124 LISNs, per DO 160G Figure 17.2.

  2. Single Phase/DC: 1x needed; L-N / Pos - Neg

  3. 3-Phase: 3x are needed; One needed for each Lx to N, if no N; one is used between each Lx
  4. Connection: Use 4 mm safety laboratory leads (Optional).  A-EMC PC-SB-OP-1M 12AWG wire with Safety Banana Plugs to open end 1m long 2 Black, 2 Red

  5. Compliance Check: Verify that neither the LISN nor the CAP 10 µF exceeds its rated voltage/current limits under test conditions.
