Specify the Haefely FP-COMB /1500-1 with its AC option for both AC and DC test programs. The combined configuration supports 1500 V DC and AC operation up to 1000 Vrms, including commonly specified 690 V AC systems. Automated surge, ring-wave and EFT/burst testing

The Haefely FP-COMB /1500-1 family couples surge combination wave, ring wave and EFT/burst disturbances onto DC power circuits up to 1500 V. Select a 63, 125 or 200 A network to match the EUT. Add the AC option when your test program also needs single- or three-phase AC coverage.

Three transient tests

Surge combination wave: 1.2/50 µs voltage and 8/20 µs current. Ring wave: 100 kHz. EFT/burst: IEC/EN 61000-4-4.

Automatic test routing

AXOS selects coupling paths and source impedance for the chosen IEC or ANSI test mode. AC configurations also synchronize the phase angle.

Decoupling and indication

Application-specific decoupling inductors reduce residual voltage while addressing voltage drop at rated current. LEDs show active coupling path, power, CDN activity and overtemperature.

All versions: 7 kV surge and ring-wave input; 5 kV EFT/burst input. Available tests depend on the AXOS generator and installed modules. AC-equipped versions support single- and three-phase applications.

The networks are controlled by AXOS 5 or AXOS 8. The /1500-1 datasheet states compliance with AXOS 8. Use an appropriately equipped AXOS 8 for 7 kV surge/ring-wave testing; compatibility with AXOS 5 does not add missing waveforms or raise its generator output rating.

AXOS generator/controller and EUT power source are separate system equipment. The CDN couples and decouples the applied disturbances; it does not replace the generator or EUT supply.

Configuration and upgrade options

The AC+DC configuration uses the /1500-1 DC network plus its matching AC option. The AC option adds three-phase AC operation for common 690 V applications, with AC capability up to 1000 Vrms. Confirm the required upgrade arrangement and installation with Haefely for an existing unit. A multiple-current-level switch supports lower-current testing; the datasheet does not list its switch positions or describe a current-rating upgrade.
