LSAOL 1.2 Laser-Powered Analog Optical Link

1 MHz to 3 / 4 / 6 GHz | RF over Fiber for EMC & Antenna Measurements

The LUMILOOP LSAOL 1.2 is a laser-powered, wideband analog RF-over-fiber transmission system designed for demanding EMC emission testing, antenna measurements, and RF signal transport applications. By eliminating long coaxial cable runs, grounding issues, and battery-powered front-ends, the LSAOL 1.2 delivers stable, low-loss RF signal transmission up to 6 GHz over fiber-optic links exceeding 100 m.

Laser-powered operation removes the need for local batteries at the front unit, enabling continuous operation with minimal maintenance and excellent long-term stability—ideal for EMC laboratories, test chambers, and measurement environments.

Key Technical Advantages

  • Laser-powered front unit
No batteries required; eliminates maintenance and downtime associated with battery replacement.

  • Wideband RF over fiber
Frequency coverage from 1 MHz up to 3 GHz, 4 GHz, or 6 GHz, depending on model.

  • 50 Ω analog transmission
Preserves amplitude accuracy and dynamic range for emission testing and antenna measurements.

  • Modular RX / TX configuration
    User-selectable signal direction:

    • Receiver mode: Front Unit → Base Unit → EMI receiver or spectrum analyzer

    • Transmitter mode: Base Unit → Front Unit → antenna or DUT

  • Integrated pre-amplifier options
Configurable with or without LNA to optimize noise figure, gain, and intercept point.

  • Long fiber runs without attenuation penalties
Optical links support distances >100 m, avoiding coax losses and chamber feedthrough issues.

  • Local and remote control
Built-in touchscreen plus Ethernet remote control using SCPI commands for automated test systems.

Typical Applications

  • EMC radiated emission measurements

  • Antenna characterization and measurements

  • Long-distance RF signal transport in EMC chambers

  • Elimination of ground loops and common-mode interference

  • Integration into custom antenna bodies or probes

  • RF transmission to or from DUTs in harsh or isolated environments
