These measuring systems are used for the optical and digital transmission of analog signals with a resolution of 10 Bit and a maximal analog bandwidth of 10 MHz.

They consist of a transmitter supplied by an external power supply, a plastic optical fiber, and a receiver – which also has an external power supply.

Due to their insensitivity to strong electromagnetic fields above the specified transmission range, the systems are suitable for testing electromagnetic compatibility in EMC test chambers, TEM cells, and strip lines. The signal to be measured is filtered, sampled, digitized, and transmitted to the receiver via an optical transmitter system. At the receiver, the digital data stream is again converted into an analog signal and can be measured with a high-impedance probe (e.g., an oscilloscope) at the output.

A Quoted kit will consist of the following configuration:

2x FO-FB-BNC

  • external output filter applicable for analog transmission links (Ux/12, Ux/14 etc.) with BNC output connector.
  • needs to be connected to the output of the receiver if a stimulus is supposed
  • to be sent inside the ALC (the receiver is located in ALC, and the transmitter is located in CR).
  • Setup with ferrite bead reduces overshoots of rectangular signals.
