CG 100/500, 100 kHz - 400 MHz, 100 and 500 kHz Steps, Conducted Comb GeneratorCheck out our Comb Generator Selection Guide. Features Description The CG100/500 Conducted Comb Generators are reference signal sources for testing Line Impedance Stabilization Networks (LISN). CG100/500 output has the harmonics of the fundamental frequency specified by the step size. Has two switchable frequency step sizes, 100 kHz and 500kHz frequency steps. This allows checks and investigations on conducted measurement systems to be made, for example using a LISN or RJ11, RJ45 standard connectors for conducted measurements using an ISN. CG100/500 has a high impedance to external line voltage AC or DC up to 230 V. This feature allows the Comb Generator to be used while the LISNs are connected to an external power source. CG100/500 is powered by a rechargeable internal battery and external power cable connection. The Comb Generator is powered by a rechargeable internal battery and external power cable connection. When fully charged, the battery allows continuous operation of up to 16 hours. The Comb Generator is included with a battery charger, USB cable, and accessories that are shipped in a wooden storage box. Application The main application of Comb Generator is to quickly verify conducted emissions test setups. With the Comb Generator, the test engineer will be able to perform quickly a verification of the conducted test setup more frequently to assure accurate test results. For example, any problem or change with the LISN, attenuator, or receiver will be reflected in the Comb Generator data with the same setup. The same method can be utilized when EMC emissions measurements for a product vary with sites. The Comb Generator can be used to determine if the test sites are causing the variation. Other applications of the CG100/500 Conducted Comb Generator could include production evaluation of components, such as cable shields and filters.
