PDG 9211 - Polarization swivel fixture

The polarisation swivel fixture PDG 9211 allows changing the polarisation of larger horn antennas by a single person easily. With the four locking points, the antenna can snap in increments of 90° angles to horizontal or vertical polarisation.

PDG 9211 — Polarisation Swivel Fixture

Fast, one-person polarization rotation for large horn antennas with precise 90° indexing

The PDG 9211 enables quick, repeatable horizontal/vertical polarization changes of larger horn antennas by a single operator. Four positive locking positions provide 90° detents. The antenna is supported near its center of gravity to maintain balance, and the fixture mounts to the AM 9144 tripod via a 3/8" camera thread. An optional pneumatic polarisation shifter (Opt. 9211 PN) enables remote, push-button rotation.

Key Highlights

  • Single-operator rotation with four 90° lock positions (H/V alignment).

  • Center-of-gravity support minimizes effort and improves safety when handling larger horns.

  • Direct mounting to AM 9144 tripod (3/8" camera thread).

  • Remote rotation option with pneumatic polarisation shifter (Opt. 9211 PN).

Applications

  • Chamber/OATS polarization switching for emissions and immunity setups

  • Efficient antenna alignment workflows in production or lab environments

  • Repeatable H/V transitions during ANSI/CISPR scans

What’s Included

  • PDG 9211 swivel fixture body

  • Antenna-specific rotating rings and braces (ordered by option code; see Compatibility)

Required/Recommended:

  • AM 9144 tripod (3/8" vertical thread) — required for standard mounting.

  • Clean, dry air supply for Opt. 9211 PN (if pneumatic option is selected).

Specifications

ParameterValue
Mount Interface 3/8" camera thread (vertical), mates to AM 9144 tripod
Lock Positions 4 positions, 90° increments (H/V)
Dimensions (w/ Opt. 9211 J) 85 × 45 × 55 cm (approx.)
Weight ~5.5 kg
Antenna Support 3/8" horn fixtures near center of gravity
Height Offset (example) With Opt. 9211 J the horn center is ~16 cm above mast mount; G ≈ 25 cmF ≈ 34 cm (others on request)
Remote Rotation Opt. 9211 PN pneumatic polarisation shifter

Height-offset note: The horn center sits roughly ½ of the horn’s maximum width above the mast interface; verify mast height range accordingly.

Options & Compatibility

Order options match specific horn families; each antenna type requires its own rotating rings/braces.

Antenna FamilyPDG OptionTypical Height Offset*
BBHA 9120 F Opt. 9211 F ~34 cm
BBHA 9120 G Opt. 9211 G ~25 cm
BBHA 9120 J Opt. 9211 J ~16 cm
HA 9251-24 Opt. 9211 24 On request
HA 9251-48 Opt. 9211 48 On request
Pneumatic Shifter Opt. 9211 PN Remote operation (air supply required)

*Representative values provided in the datasheet; verify for your horn to ensure mast clearance.

Using the PDG 9211 (Quick Guide)

  1. Pull the locking pin rearwards to release the detent.

  2. Rotate the horn to the next 90° position.

  3. Release the pin; it will snap into the next index position to secure the horn.

Ordering Information

Because each horn requires matched rings and braces, specify your horn model option when ordering (e.g., “Opt. 9211 J” for BBHA 9120 J). Add “Opt. 9211 PN” if pneumatic rotation is required.

Example: PDG 9211 with Opt. 9211 J and Opt. 9211 PN (for BBHA 9120 J, with pneumatic shifter).

Fit-Out Checklist (FCC/ANSI Workflows)

  • ? AM 9144 tripod height range accommodates horn center offset (see table).

? Signal/air lines routed to allow full rotation without strain (PN option).

  • ? Clearance to chamber walls/mast at all detent positions verified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can one PDG 9211 cover different horn sizes?
Yes—order the appropriate option kit (rings/braces) per horn model.

Q2: How do I plan mast height?
Account for the additional horn-center height above the mast interface (e.g., ~16 cm with Opt. 9211 J); ensure your mast can reach the required test heights.

Q3: Is remote rotation possible?
Yes—add Opt. 9211 PN for pneumatic actuation (requires air).
