Front working gap
Insert the specimen through the 7 mm front slot. The homogeneous region is 7 mm wide, 7 mm deep and 30 mm high; its center is 17 mm behind the front-panel surface. The top slot provides a view of the specimen position.

Strong magnetic fields in a precisely defined test gap.
Generate magnetic fields from DC to approximately 1 MHz for experimental applications. The AGEM 5521-23 combines a 23-turn coil, a split toroidal ferromagnetic core and a built-in monitor loop in a compact aluminum housing.
Insert the specimen through the 7 mm front slot. The homogeneous region is 7 mm wide, 7 mm deep and 30 mm high; its center is 17 mm behind the front-panel surface. The top slot provides a view of the specimen position.
A monitor coil occupies the second 7 mm gap. Its BNC output provides a field-dependent voltage for checking the flux density in the core and working area.
A stop at the bottom of the working area supports the specimen. It can be removed by taking off the upper housing and undoing the retaining screw, as shown in the datasheet.
Connect a suitable generator and amplifier to the 4 mm coil terminals. The manufacturer recommends an audio amplifier at lower frequencies and requires a series protection resistor to prevent the amplifier from driving a short circuit.
An optional NFCN 9732-x nF compensation network reduces series impedance at a selected operating frequency. The AGEM example connects the amplifier through a protective SHUNT 9571 resistor to the network, then connects the “to coil” output directly to the electromagnet.
Use a measurement input terminated in 50 Ω. A high-impedance oscilloscope needs a BNC T-piece and parallel 50 Ω termination. At 100 kHz, 1000 A/m corresponds to 46.1 mV RMS, or approximately 130 mV peak-to-peak.
The BNC monitor output connects separately to a 50 Ω measurement input. Compensation is selected for one operating frequency.
Ratings, connectors and mechanical details consolidated from the manufacturer’s product page and Rev. A datasheet.
