4.4.2.2  Reference Test Yes!  The reference test determines the necessary voltage ripple UR at the power supply, which shall be applied to the DUT in order not to exceed the current limit Ipp for the applied excitation frequency. The power supply shall inject an AC voltage ripple UR on top of U0, which shall be progressively increased until either the maximum voltage ripple Upp at the DUT or the maximum current limit Ipp is reached. The ascertained ripple voltages of UR of the power supply for every frequency step shall be documented. It is necessary to distinguish between UR and Upp due to the impedance of the cable harness and input impedance of the DUT. Therefore, UR can be much higher than Upp.
4.4.2.3 Voltage Ripple Tests Yes! To perform the voltage ripple test, the ascertained voltage ripple UR from the reference test for each frequency step is applied to the DUT. It is not allowed to reduce the voltage ripple UR further even if the current limit Ipp is now exceeded.
