HFRAE 5162 - Passive Magnetic Antennas, RX-Loop AntennaThe Loop Antenna for magnetic fields was designed for medium to high-level field strengths in the frequency range 50 kHz (10 kHz) to 30MHz. The application is without problems due to the passive structure without electronic components or power requirements: H fields from 20 dBμA/m on are indicated with test receivers (50-ohm input, calibration in dBμV) or, with slightly less sensitivity, with spectrum analyzers. Add the log. antenna factor from the table ( k H ) to the dBμV reading of the receiver to obtain the magnetic field strength level in dBμA/m. For high field-strengths, broadband voltmeters with 50 W input resistance (also power meters - observe overload risks) may be used. Voltage or power readings must be converted to voltage levels in dBμV (20 x log U [μV]). Add the log. antenna factor k H from the calibration table to obtain the magnetic field strength level in dBμA/m If FAR-FIELD measurements are intended in units of dBμV/m, read the voltage level in dBμV across 50 W and add the E field antenna factor k E from the table (it is 51.5 dB higher and provides the "fictitious E field-level" in dBμV/m ).
