High-current source for power-frequency magnetic field immunity testing according to IEC 61000-4-8, -4-9, and -4-10.
The MFPO 9760 is a high-power current transformer designed to drive the FESP 5410-1 1 m square induction coil at the typical mains frequencies of 50/60 Hz. Together, they form a robust solution for generating strong, well-defined magnetic fields for EMC immunity testing in accordance with industrial power-frequency and surge/impulse magnetic field standards.
When used with the FESP 5410-1, the MFPO 9760 can produce short-term fields above 1000 A/m and continuous fields up to 360 A/m at the coil center, making it suitable for demanding qualification of power electronics, industrial controllers, traction/rail systems, and other sensitive equipment.
High-current magnetic field source
Drives the FESP 5410-1 coil with currents up to 1200 A (≤ 5 s), 600 A (≤ 5 min) and 400 A continuous, enabling test levels required by IEC 61000-4-8/-4-9/-4-10.
Power-frequency and pulsed operation
Optimized for 50/60 Hz operation; the low-inductance, single-turn coil allows fast transitions and pulsed or oscillatory magnetic field waveforms for surge/impulse testing.
Integrated pulse generator
Built-in timing electronics provide adjustable ON intervals from approximately 0.5 s to 5 s.
Longer or custom intervals can be set manually by holding the start button or via a remote control input.
High field strength capability
With FESP 5410-1, achieves > 1000 A/m (short-time) and 360 A/m continuous at the coil center, covering and exceeding typical industrial test levels.
Optimized for IEC magnetic field immunity standards
Designed specifically for tests according to IEC 61000-4-8, IEC 61000-4-9, and IEC 61000-4-10 (and aligned national standards such as GB/T 17626.8).
Robust, lab-grade construction
Heavy-duty cabinet with high-current buswork and proper thermal design for continuous operation at rated levels.
Designed for long-term use in EMC test labs and certification environments.
Power-frequency magnetic field immunity testing per IEC 61000-4-8
Pulsed or transient magnetic field immunity per IEC 61000-4-9
Oscillatory magnetic field tests per IEC 61000-4-10
Evaluation of industrial control systems, power converters, UPS systems, and switchgear
Testing of sensitive instrumentation, protection relays, and safety systems exposed to strong mains-related magnetic fields
A typical MFPO 9760 system includes:
MFPO 9760 Current Transformer and Pulse Generator
FESP 5410-1 1 m Square Induction Coil for generating the magnetic field at the EUT
Appropriate high-current cabling and mounting hardware (coil on non-conductive mast or support structure)
Two FESP 5410-1 coils can be combined as a Helmholtz pair to increase field strength and improve field uniformity over a larger test volume, particularly for bulky EUTs or multi-cabinet systems.
