EMCL 6146 EM Coupling Clamp

Overview
The EMCL 6146 EM Coupling Clamp is engineered for precision and reliability in conducted immunity testing, meeting the rigorous requirements of IEC/EN 61000-4-6. It facilitates disturbance signal injection into the equipment under test (EuT) over a wide frequency range, ensuring compliance with EMC standards.

Key Features

  • Wideband Performance: Covers a usable frequency range from 10 kHz to 1000 MHz, with normative operation from 150 kHz to 80 MHz.

  • Multiple Coupling Mechanisms: Combines inductive and capacitive coupling to ensure optimal signal injection across the entire range.

  • High Power Handling: Supports up to 100 W continuous power for frequencies under 1 MHz, and up to 50 W at higher frequencies.

  • Built-in Ferrite Absorber Chain: Improves impedance matching and enhances decoupling performance from auxiliary equipment.

  • Convenient and Robust Design: Features four spring-loaded downholders, integrated sheath wave suppressors, and an easily accessible plastic housing for repeatable testing.

To improve the impedance matching between the power amplifier and the clamp, the use of a 6 dB power attenuator is recommended by the standard.  The EMCL 6146 fulfills all IEC / EN 61000-4-6 requirements and comes with an individual calibration of the coupling factor CF. In some special cases, an increased decoupling of the EMCL 6146 to the AE side might be useful. The op- optional decoupling clamp FTC 101 B is the perfectly matched companion in such applications.

CAL EMCL Cal Fixture

The Calibration Jig CAL EMCL can be used to calibrate the coupling factor and the impedance Zin and the decoupling factor of the EM Coupling Clamp EMCL 6146 as well as for test level setting acc. to IEC / EN 61000-4-6 (Immunity to conducted disturbances, induced by radio- frequency fields). Further, the decoupling clamp FTC 101 B can be characterized (Zin, decoupling a).
